Product Description

This part is the replacement for the end cap on your refrigerator pantry drawer. Your pantry drawer will have two end caps; one for the right side and one for the left. This is the end cap for the right-hand side, and is sold separately from the left end cap. The part is made of white plastic and is an OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer. To remove the old pantry drawer end cap, simply remove the pantry drawer and disconnect the end cap. Replace it with a new one, and slide the pantry drawer back into place.

The rh plastic hinge pin holding the deli drawer cover had sheared off on one side

Remove the deli drawer by lifting the back of the drawer to disengage the slides. Remove both crisper drawers by lifting the back of the drawer, the glass shelf below them, and the two retainer bars that hold the glass. There is a tab in the center of the old drawer end cap that one can press. Press this tab and lift up on the back of the ... Read more end cap while pulling it away from the back wall of the refrigerator (carefully!). The cooling mechanism at the back of the refrigerator will come away from the back wall with the end cap as it comes loose. (The end cap is secured by 4 square snap-in nylon posts mounted on the right refrigerator wall.) The cooling control piece inserts into a slot on its left side and it will lift out with the old end cap. Once the end cap is loose, remove the whole mechanism. The cooling control arm can be removed from the clips that hold it in a channel in the end cap and can be rotated to remove from the temp control knob at the front of the end cap. Remove the temp control arm and mechanism from the old end cap and set aside. Remove the metal slide by pushing the back tab down that keeps the metal piece on the slide from moving forward. I had to destroy the old panel to get the metal slide to release as it was stuck in place. Now you are ready to install the metal slide in the new end panel by sliding the metal tabs of the slide into the slots on the end cap until the retaining tab at the back clicks to hold it in. Remove the old temp control knob from the old panel and install it into the new panel. Connect the temp control arm to the control by rotating the arm so the elliptical tab fits into the control slot. Now you are ready to install the whole thing into the refrigerator, but you have to put the deli cover glass door into the two plastic pins ... one on each drawer end cap. This may take two people. Once the plastic pins are inserted into each side of the door, move the new end cap into place, supporting the temperature control baffle that goes on the back wall. Insert the temp control baffle tab on the lh side into the slot in the back wall of the refrigerator while moving the drawer end cap into place above the nylon retaining posts. With one motion, with the new end cap in place, push down on the end cap so that is snaps into place. Be sure to engage the plastic pieces on the back of the end cap into the slots on the back wall of the refrigerator. Replace the glass piece above the deli drawer with the two retaining bars and the two crisper drawers. Job is finished. It worked for me, but one has to go slow and be careful not to damage the plastic parts that are involved!!

A piece of the end cap had broken off while cleaning so that the drawer did not close on its own.

We had no instructions so we dismantled things piece by piece photographing each step. We used the pictures to reassemble it. The final piece, the drawer cover was not very flexible so take your time.
