Product Description

The water inlet valve is a solenoid-operated switch located at the bottom of the refrigerator. When it is energized by electrical power, water is released from the supply line through the water valve and into the compact icemaker mold. ***Please NOTE: This part has been redesigned and may appear different than the original. It has a new quick connection. To install: cut the retaining nut off the existing water line and gently push into new valve. To remove: depress the ring that the tube slides into.

Very easy repair removed old vavle. Compared to new, seen was easier reusing bracket from old valve, and that need to drill a single bracket hole for mounting, lines installed job complete with in 30 min.

Replace a leaking, ice maker water valve.
Repair was a bit difficult mostly in try to figure how to orient the new ice maker water valve. The real plus in using this kit was the number of extra mounting parts provided in addition to providing addition parts in connecting the water inflow and outflow lines.

The water supply was not enough, thus the water inlet solenoid was not working properly
I followed the instructions but had to make one adjustment from the instructions and look on the internet for one other matter. The instructions showed the unit mounting from the bottom or the right back side of the unit. The original solenoid was on the left (view from the back of the refrigerator). The only way for the new solenoid to mount was to still mount it on the left side, but to mount it sideways. I did not know if that would make any difference, but so far it is working fine. I also had to drill one hole in the bottom of the refrigerator frame to screw in a second screw to hold the unit. The second issue I was unsure of was how to attach the water hose from the solenoid to the ice maker. It was a push-in type, not an attachment that was on there like a hose attachment. I went on the internet to find out about this newer (and more convenient) plastic hose attachment. I went ahead and, after attaching the additional hose for needed length, pushed in the new hose into the unit and it worked great. Everything is working fine again.
