Product Description

The ice maker works by filling with water from the inlet valve, freezing it into cubes, and then dispensing the cubes into the storage bucket. It will then refill with water and repeat this process until the ice storage bucket is full. If yours is not making ice or it is leaking, it may be time to replace the ice maker. Depending on usage and water quality, these should be replaced every three to ten years. Please note that this kit does not come with a new shut off arm (also known as a bail arm). You will need to reuse the arm from your old ice maker, or you can purchase a new one separately. This genuine OEM parts kit includes the replacement ice maker, wire harnesses (flat and round plug versions), and the mounting hardware. The wire harness from your old ice maker can also be reused if you choose. This model is approximately 11x5 inches in size, made of plastic and metal, and is black and silver in color. This model does not work with refrigerators that have the ice auger on the door, it is meant to sit in the upper left hand of the freezer. Please ensure that you disconnect the power and water supply before beginning this repair. ***NOTE: Ice maker does NOT come with the bail or shut off arm. You must order them separately if required. It does come complete with flat and round plug wiring harness, the mounting hardware, and the instructions. The harness can be reused. The ice maker will not fit refrigerators that have the ice auger mounted on the door.

Water leaking into ice cube tray and freezing cubes together.
Turned power off by unplugging refrigerator from wall. Removed bottom bracket screw and loosened two upper screws. Removed old ice maker away from mounting point to enable disconnect of power lead. Pay attention to water supply tube when installing new unit so that it it lines up with hole in the bracket. Installation is just the reverse of removal. Very easy job. You Tube video was a great help.

Ice maker was @14 year's old and died.
Took 2 of us to remove old and install new Ice maker due to very limited space. Have a side by side.Instructions were easy to follow, but space was tight. Used old wire since none of replacement harnesses worked due to age of appliance. Wife did an excellent job on the most part since she was able to get in the tight spot.

I was still getting water to the refrigerator but not getting any ice.
I first watched the video on your website, then pretty much did the ice maker replacement the same way. Its not a difficult repair at all. I removed the bottom screw, loosened the 2 top ones, took it off the side unplugged the electric connection. Took off and transferred the shut off bar to the new one, remounted the new one and in no ti me at all I have plenty of ice again!

Ice maker leaked
Via the video instructions. The problem was the new ice maker mounted approx. 1 inch higher than the old one. I could not use the lower mounting hole and the ice door had to be removed. The ice bin space to the ice maker is now 1 inch greater. I will have to be aware of a full bin or h ave ice cubes in the freezer. Last note: When placed side by side the old & new ice makers looked identical?

leaking ice maker into freezer compartment.
Unplug refrigerator from electricity. Back out two screws that supports ice maker about 1 1/4 turn. Remove the bottom screw that holds maker in place. Unplug cable from ice maker to refrigerator. Remove shut off arm from old ice maker ( it just pulls out of the front slot) and install on to the new maker. Check for the correct cable for your model, when correct, plug in cable, tighten screws, plug in fridge. Note it will take over an hour for first dump of ice. You may hear water run for a short time from water solenoid to fill maker, thats good, now wait for the dump.
