Product Description

This part is a replacement light socket for your refrigerator. It connects to the power source, and holds the light bulb. If the light in your refrigerator is not working, you could have a faulty socket. It is important to determine if the light bulb is simply burned out, or if the socket is causing the issue. Be sure to disconnect your refrigerator from the power source before you begin this repair. This socket is black in color and is sold individually. This is an OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer.

Out with old, In with new
I flipped the switch to the refrigerator. Then I reached in, put pressure on the top clip and pulled to remove the old socket. It took my son's strength to unplug the socket, but I probably could have eventually. Then we plugged in the new socket, pushed the socket back into the proper position, screwed in the light bulb, and restored pow er. I love being able to see what's in the refrigerator again. Took less than 5 minutes. Easy Peasy.

Light just went out in the fridge but I could get it back on if I whacked the socket
My breaker box wasn't labeled right so I couldn't turn the breaker off and the fridge is back were I can't pull it since they plugged it in and then built the cabinets around it, blocking access to the outlet. I had one person, my dad, hold down the switch and unscrewed the lightbulb, then I felt around, found the tab that clicks in to th e top of the fridge and worked it down and popped the socket out. Pulled the socket to where I had access to the wires and pulled it loose. carefully lined up the prongs with the plug and made sure that it was secured and popped the new socket into the fridge. screwed the old bulb in to see if it would work, perfect lighting. it was brighter than it has been in weeks when I could get it to work and no more going off or just flashing. incredibly easy, didn't even need any tools. If you have a similar issue with access to power cutoffs and don't have another persons help then tape a piece of cardboard to the switch to keep it off. Very happy with the parts I got and now have a spare bulb that I know is the right one.

Refrigator Light
Ordered and replaced light switch and socket. Installed new bulb. Adjusted contacts in socket. Checked wires in back, vacuumed, Light still doesn't work. However replacing switch and socket was easy. Parts arrived fast.
