Product Description

This is an authentic OEM replacement part sourced directly from the manufacturer. This relay is commonly used in refrigerators, freezers, and dehumidifiers. This positive temperature coefficient (PTC) relay, also known as a start relay, is a starting device for the compressor in your appliance. When there is an increase in temperature the compressor needs to kick in, this is part of the circuit that makes that happen. When it senses the increase in temperature it briefly powers the start winding to help kick start the compressor motor. Once the motor is up to speed the relay shuts off. This PTC relay is sold individually.
