Condenser Fan Motor

I removed the back cover so that I could see the condenser fan. I disconnected the motor (just a quick-connect type connector). There were two 1/4" screws holding the motor bracket. I had to use a small wrench since there was not room to use a nut driver. Once I removed the two screws, I was easily able to replace the motor. The old fan just slides off the old motor shaft and onto the new one.

Unplugged the refrigerator. Pulled rear access plate off (removed 7 screws). Disconnected fan motor. Fan motor was running slow even if the fan propeller was clear of fan shroud. Removed two screws to remove the fan motor from mounting bracket. With fan motor loose, I removed the fan propeller from motor by pulling it off the shaft. I then slid the motor shaft out from the mounting bracket to remove fan motor. I then vacuumed out the condenser coil area to remove dust. I cleaned the fan propeller. Removed rubber grommets from motor mounting brackets and replaced them with new ones. Slid new fan motor shaft through mounting bracket and maneuvered motor so as to attach the fan propeller. Reattached fan propeller by pushing it back onto the motor shaft. Fitted motor into the mounting bracket and secured to coil housing with the two screws I removed earlier. Make certain that the grounding wire is secured under one of the mounting bracket screws. Plugged the refrigerator back in. Observed that the fan was rotating free and clear of fan shroud. Reattached the rear access plate.

Took old motor out, put new motor in. Cleaning all the dust out took the longest.

Removed the back lower panel 1/4" screws and found fan motor and pump very warm to the touch. Fan motor was not operating. Installed household fan behind fridge and after an hour or two it began to cool again. Ordered new motor and fan blade. Left household fan in place until part arrived.... Unplugged fridge installed new motor and blade by first prying the fan off the motor with a pair of pliers and then removing the electrical connector and two bolts holding motor in place. Replacement of the blade was not necessary but because of how the blade is pressed on would recommend replacing just because...Reconnected new motor and fan and fridge is working just like it should..

Took back off rear and vacuumed out. Unplugged fan, removed 2 screws, hard to get to 1. Fan blade pulls off. Reverse order for new fan, make sure you reconnect ground wire and rubber grommets! Tight space consumed my time, otherwise an easy fix. This site is the best for repairs to save money and to tell you how to replace! LKM

I removed the whole mounting frame and had trouble lining everything back up. once I realized the coil frame pulls forward just enough to line up screw, things went well

Replaced fan motor by copying video method. Shipment for motor was fast. Video was precise and detailed. Saved me money!!!

Removed back cover removed fan and replaced. Looked up how to video on web. Did not go as they instructed. Had to remove fan from bracket with bracket loose from condenser. whole unit can not be pulled as a unit as they instructed.
