I’m trying to replace the auger and I have arthritis so bad I dropped the broken part and now I don’t know how the blade assembled. Can you help please?
For model number DSHF6VGBCCBB
Hello Ray, Thank you for the question. We have attached a How to Video on replacing the Auger. We hope this helps. If you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!
UTUBE was a great help. Your service is outstanding. I dropped the broken auger cutters and washers. The utube was clear enough for me to get the correct order for proper repair. Most of the hour plus was spent on this drop of parts.
Had hard time installing cutters correctly. Eventually got them watching the You Tube video.
Watched the video and did the repair following that to the letter. After we got it all apart, we discovered another broken piece, the Dispenser Crusher Cover. So, we abandoned the project and ordered that part. As I said, we had a difficult time with the cutters, but that is complete. Just waiting for the Crusher Cover.
Dispenser auger broke and would not push ice forward
Removed the ice tray. Remove 2 screws on the bottom and pull the front cover off the tray. Remove 1 screw on the shield at the top. Use putty knife and slide down each side to release the plastic clips. Pull up on the internal housing which will bring the blade housing and auger out of the tray. Using the Plyers, unscrew the nylon nut (reverse threads). Make sure as you remove each blade that you keep them in order. Once all blades and bushings are removed start putting them on the new auger in the same order they were removed, tighten in place with the nylon nut and put it all back together.
Fairly straight forward. Remove 1 Philips screw on clear plastic ice guide on top and 2 Philips screws on bottom. Remove front cover. Remove 1 Philips screw on ice crusher arm and remove arm. Carefully pry out white plastic top to remove auger assembly. Remove metal clip and washer on end and remove ice crusher housing. Plastic nut on end of auger shaft is removed next, but it is threaded backwards. Remove Ice crusher blades by stacking them on the table and replace the auger shaft. Reassembly is in the reverse order.
I took out two screws at bottom of front tray. Then lifted tha plastic up and removed. Next I took spring loose so I could take out rest of plastic to get augar out. Then on old augar I unscrewed the plastic end so I could take off blades. Watch how they come off to put on new augar. When I get them on augar I put the new augar into bucket, making sure the plastic plate is on right then it all goes back the way I took it a part. That's it.
