Product Description

When energized, the water inlet valve will release water from the supply line into the ice mold and the water dispenser in the refrigerator. If the ice maker is not making or dispensing ice, not dispensing water, or leaking, you may need to replace the water inlet valve. The water inlet valve is in the back section of your refrigerator and will need to be pulled out from the wall. Make sure to disconnect both the water and power supply before starting your repair.

water supply tube freezing because supply line was dripping water
Remove water supply line Remove 2 sheet metal screws on mounting bracket Unplug electrical connector Cut off plastic water line flush with connector Install new valve by pushing plastic water line all the way into connector, connect electrical plug, mount valve to fridge and connect water line with thread tape.

The ice maker quit working again.
This is an ongoing problem with this fridge. These ice makers are bad off the shelf. I am now on my fourth in a years time. My mother has the same fridge and her's has never worked. I began by getting another ice maker an putting it in. It didn't work, so I assumed that it had to be the pump in the fridge itself, so I ordered one. It's re ally easy to put in. Turn off water, take off the cardboard back, unscrew water line with 1/2 wrench, unscrew two screw holding the pump to the fridge, unplug the little wire and the second water line. It's real simple and self explanitory when you look at it, but it didn't work. I put my Ohm's meter on the pumps plugs and it checked 250 across it which is right. So I took the the ice maker back to Lowe's and the new kit had a pump in it for $.65 less than the ice maker alone had cost before. Go figure. I put it in. Didn't work. I put in the new pump. Didn't work. I blew out the water lines. Didn't work. I ran to town and got dielectiric grease and put in all the connections and it worked. The electric connections on this fridge are really cheap and weak like the rest of the unit. I guess it needed a bit of help making the connection. I spent over $80 and drove about 60 miles to fix this thing when it possibly only needed a $1 worth of dielectric grease in the first place. Don't make the same mistake I did. Check it first.

Ice maker not working
Installation was very easy, removed old part, installed new part. Do make sure the water source is turned completely off :) Unsure if part was plugged in correctly. But sadly that did not fix the problem, now ordering all new ice maker. Hope this does the trick. Fridge is only 2 years old.

Ice Maker Was Not Producing Ice.
Simple. Use screw driver to remove old valve inlet. Remove tubing and snap into new valve, was a little worried because ends were different. All I had to do was cut off the end of the old tubing and push it into the new. It was self-sealing. Rescrew into place. Ice again. Wonderful, easy. Less than 30 minutes. Has been working we ll.

NO WATER COMING TO ICE MAKER
I CHECKED ONLINE AND FOUND OUT THE WATER INLET VALVE WAS PROBABLY THE CULPRIT. WHEN YOU DON'T GET ANY WATER TO ICEMAKER AND PREVIOUSLY GOT BIG FROZEN GLOBS OF ICEWATER IN BOTTOM OF ICE TRAY IT LEAKED ALSO WITH VERY LITTLE ICE MAKING IT THAT IS TELLTALE SIGN WATER INLET VALVE IS BAD. MY MODEL # FOR MY FRIGIDAIRE REFRIGERATOR TOP MOUNTED FREEZER NO LONGER EXISTED, SO I ORDERED A COMMON ONE FOR THIS OLDER MODEL FOR SIMPLE SINGLE WATERLINE OF ONE SELENOID-COPPER LINE COMING IN AND JUST ONE WATER LINE GOING TO ICEMAKER. MOST NEW VALVES HAVE A INTERNAL HOLE TO PUT EXISTING WATER LINE IN INSTEAD OF A THREADED NUT TO HOOK UP. YOU HAVE TO CUT PLASTIC WATER LINE ON BOTTOM OF VALVE CLOSE TO OLD VALVE NUT STRAIGHT WITH RAZOR BLADE AND INSERT INTO NEW VALVE TILL IT SEATS AND WON'T PULL BACK OUT. TAKE CARDBOARD COVER OFF BACK OF REFRIGERATOR FIRST AFTER UNPLUGGING REFRIGERATOR, THEN UNSCREW COPPER LINE FITTING WITH 1/2" WRENCH AND PUT TOWEL ON FLOOR TO CATCH ANY DRIPPAGE. UNPLUG CONNECTOR ON BACK AND PLUG BACK INTO NEW VALVE AND CUT PLASTIC WATER LINE FROM BOTTOM OF OLD VALVE WITH RAZOR BLADE SQUARELY AND INSERT APPROX. 11/16" INTO NEW VALVE AND CHECK FOR HOLDING AND WON'T PULL BACK OUT. ALMOST FORGOT THEY ARE 2 NUTDRIVER SCREWS HOLDING IT ON AND TIGHTEN THEM BACK AND SCREW ON COPPER LINE, BUT DON'T OVERTIGHTEN. TURN WATER BACK ON SLOWLY AND LOOK FOR LEAKS ,IF NONE PUT CARDBOARD COVER BACK ON AND PUT REFRIGERATOR BACK AGAINST WALL AND PLUG BACK IN . IT MIGHT TAKE SEVERAL HOURS TO MAKE FIRST BATCH OF ICE, BUT BE PATIENT. YOU CAN HURRY UP THE PROCESS BY TAKING FRONT COVER OFF ICEMAKER AND TURN GEAR CLOCKWISE AS DIAGRAM SHOWS TO MAKE ICEMAKER GO THROUGH CYCLE QUICKER AS I HEARD THE JOYOUS SOUND OF WATER FLOWING IN MY ICEMAKER- ANOTHER TIP FOR MY TOP-MOUNT FREEZER WAS AS YOU HAVE THE ICEMAKER COVER OFF THERE WAS A PHILLIPS HEAD SCREW WITH A + AND - MARK ON THE FRONT AND SCREW IN - TO MAKE SMALLER CUBES OR SCREW OUT TO MAKE CUBES BIGGER. IF TOO BIG CUBES WILL COME OUT FROZE TO EACH OTHER. ADJUST AS NEEDED. HOPE THIS HELPS BECAUSE BREAKING ICE CUBES OUT OF A TRAY WAS TOUGH AND A HEADACHE.

Refridgerator stopped making ice
Simple R&R Removed old valve by disconnecting the power and disconnecting the water source . Next connected the water then plugged in the power . I now have ice for the summer This valve was located at the bottom left rear of the fridge and was easy to fix .

Ice Maker not working
Move refrigerator away from the wall. shut off water supply. unplug fridge. Remove 2 screws from mounting bracket with nutdriver or regular screwdriver. Remove electrical connector. remove water supply line with wrench. some water may leak out. Reinstall new valve, do not overtighten water supply line. It is a good idea to install a filt er if not built in to fridge. This is my second replacement in 4 years due to well water. Happy New Year
