plastic clips broke and the door shelf bar fell off
replaced the bar with the new clips and put back in door.

The original end cap had broken years ago
I removed the package sealing tape I had been using to temporarily (!) hold the bar in place. Then I pressed the new end cap onto the right end of the bar, inserted the tabs (that's the part that had broken off the old cap) into the holes on the door, and pressed down. That last action was the only one that gave me any difficulty, because my strength was greatly reduced after neck surgery a year ago, but I managed. It seems to be working just fine so far.
