The gasket will get the refrigerator back cold
Hello Lisa, thank you for contacting us. The door gasket acts as a seal and prevents warm air from entering the cooling compartment and therefore enhances the efficiency and cooling of the system. Given that the cooling was not efficient because of the damaged gasket, replacing it has the potential to increase the cooling. We hope this helps. Let us know if you have further questions.

New door gasket
Puled the old gasket off, installed the new one by pressing it back into the slot on the fridge door. Clean the door after removing the old gasket before replacing it.
