Product Description

If your freezer has stopped making ice cubes, it may be time to replace your ice maker. Normal wear and tear, or accidental damage may be the cause of this. This model includes the control device and ice mold, which are made of plastic and metal, and measure approximately 11 inches long by 5 inches wide. Please note that this kit does not include the cover, ice level arm, or the wire harness. These parts can be ordered separately, or you can use the existing parts from the original ice maker. This Replacement Ice Maker is a genuine OEM part and is also known as an Ice Maker Assembly or a Refrigerator Ice Maker. Installation will require a quarter inch nut driver, and make sure that you disconnect your power and water supply before beginning this repair. Once the new part is in place, your fridge will begin making ice again within a few hours.

Why would the ice maker quit crushing the ice whole ice comes out
For model number Gss20ieaww
Fix.com logo
Hello Mike, Thank you for your inquiry. It could be an issue with the auger or the crusher blades. We would recommend checking to make sure that the auger can rotate freely and that there is no ice or debris jamming the crusher blades. The other part we recommend checking is the ice dispenser solenoid. You can test this part with a multimeter. We hope this helps and if you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!

Ice maker was leaking which resulted in a large block of ice instead of cubes
I removed the screws holding the ice maker to the side of the refrigerator. There were positions for three screws-- two on top and one on the bottom; mine was missing the bottom screw. I pulled the wiring harness free from the back of the fridge and removed the old icemaker. Once the old icemaker was removed from the fridge, I removed the wiring harness from it using a screwdriver to push in the tab holding it in place. I removed the steel ice catch bar that stops ice from being made when it is in the up position-- no tools needed for that. It was just held in by tension. I installed the old ice catch bar and the old wiring harness onto the new ice maker. Then I attached the wiring harness to the back of the fridge, lined the water tube in place with the icemaker and replaced the screws to hold the new icemaker to the fridge. Ice maker now works perfectly.
