having problem with freezer freezing up to much
For model number MSD2651HEB
Hello Kay, Thank you for the question. We suggest testing the Defrost Thermostat. The best way to do this is to remove the thermostat from the refrigerator so you can control the temperature of the sensor. You can let the sensor warm up to room temperature. With the sensor warmed up to room temperature the sensor should read approximately 6.2K Ohms at 68°F. With the thermistor submerged is a glass full of ice water, the sensor should be very close to 32°F which should read approximately 16.3K Ohms. If the values that you are getting are far off from these readings, then the sensor is bad and should be replaced. We hope this helps!

cleared storage items on top and along side of fridge; pulled out from wall; removed access cover and vacuumed all I could reach; these steps took 20 minutes, replacing the capacitor @ 10 minutes; troubleshooting guide indicated probable bad "run capacitor" located with "radiator" cooling fan and/or plugged into relay mounted on compres
... Read moresor. I located compressor option, only, and I replaced run capacitor. I could detect no cooling the first day, but 24 hours lated I had ice. It took another 24 hours for fridge section to chill my favorite beverage. I guess this makes for an energy efficient refrigerator, but it sure took a long time to cool, so give it time to work..

The part is located on the bottom of the back of the refrigerator side screwed onto the fan motor housing. It is difficult to get to because of the refrigerant lines. I jacked up the refrigerator side about 8" or so so that I could access the part from underneath as well. I then used a socket wrench along with an 18" extension with a joi
... Read morent on it. It was easily removed. As far as installing it I just held the screw and part in place from underneath and hand tightened the screw back in from the back side of the unit using the extension and joint.
wire harness in the back of refrigerator at the compressor was cut
and the capacitor was missing along with the power cord . I ordered a new harness which included the power cord I was very easy to install everything plugged right in and I installed a new capacitor and refrigerator works great
Changed only the capacitor at first. After a day or so it started clicking again, only occasionally. I ended up replacing the relay also. Should have replaced them both the first time I had removed them. I followed the instructions in the video, which were excellent and easy to understand.
