Product Description

This is a genuine OEM replacement igniter for the bake element in your gas range. This part is used to ignite the gas in order to light the oven burner. If you find that your oven will not start, there is little to no heat, or the igniter glows but will not light, then you should replace this part. Another sign the igniter may be faulty is if you can hear it clicking, but it will not light. Please be sure to disconnect the power and gas supply to your range before beginning this repair.

Bake and Broil Igniters did not work
Removed the following: baking racks, bottom cover (2 screws at rear), and metal plate that covers the burner. Removed two screws that held igniter in place, removed old igniter and replaced it with new igniter. Repeated same steps for the broiler igniter. Installed the 3 items mentioned above in reverse order.

My husband did the work first he replaced the sensor it was really easy we both watch the how to videos and after that he started removing screws, two screws to be exact pull the sensor out unplugged it put the new sensor plugged it in put screws back about 10 minutes or less. After that he started in the oven he removed the bottom pan re moved some screws removed the old igniter he did have a hard time removing one screw it was underneath the igniter but once he got out the rest was really easy thanks to the videos and your help my stove now works better than before thank you for your help

Our oven would sometimes light and sometimes not light
All the burners and the broiler worked fine so I determined that the igniter was in need of replacement. I unplugged the stove and turned off the gas. I took out the oven racks, the bottom panel of the oven, and the heat shield. I then unscrewed the mounting bracket and took out the old igniter. I replaced with the new igniter and reinsta lled into the oven. I replaced all the parts and plugged in the oven and turned the gas on. On the first attempt the oven lit and has been working great.

Oven would initially ignite but not hold temperatures of 350 and under
Logically, I first replaced the thermostat (another easy repair), but that did not solve the problem. This igniter replacement is much easier when the door is removed first (remove nearly invisible locking clips at top of hinge openings, insert pin/nail/allen wrench in hole in each fully-open hinge before removing to make replacing the do or easier. I just saved you about 30 minutes). Remove racks. Turn out 2 knurled set screws at back of oven floor almost fully (about 1 1/2 inches), and remove 2 screws at front of floor. Slide floor toward you and lift out, noting where front and rear tabs go. Remove screw at back of oven that holds burner in place and lift out. Remove 2 screws holding igniter to burner assembly, and carefully slide off (tight) wire at bottom of igniter. Throw away the old igniter, grab the new one and reverse all the steps. If you want to make your wife even happier than she'll be with an oven that works again, this is a good time to disassemble the door and clean out all that greasy accumulated junk before remounting the door. That is not included in the 15-30 minute repair time.
