Product Description

This is a large dual haliant element with a limiter or sensor for glass cooktops and freestanding ranges. It is a 2500-watt part. The inner diameter measures 9 inches, while the outer diameter measures 10 inches. If there is no heat generated from your element, you may need to replace this part. You may also need to check your socket or infinite switch. It is located under the glass cooktop of your appliance. Be sure to unplug or cut the circuit breaker to your appliance before starting this repair. Before replacing this part, be sure your appliance is getting enough power. If it is receiving less than the required 220 volts of alternating current, the surface element will not work.

Burner was burned out, oven element went out
Replacement was super easy, my 10 yr old did most of the work, we read the other posts and were prepared in advance with tools and turning of the breaker. I helped with plugging in the connections, he did the rest!

Outer half of element burned out.
TURN OFF POWER AT CIRCUIT BREAKER PANEL AND ENSURE THAT IT CANNOT BE TURNED BACK ON UNTIL YOU ARE COMPLETED WITH REPAIRS! Take out two screws on bottom of range top with nut driver. Lift range top and prop it open with some kind of dowel rod or piece of wood so it is out of the way during repairs. Make a diagram of where wiring is current install on burner terminal lugs. Carefully remove spade lugs (attached to wires) from old burn connectors with needle nose pliers. Remove two phillips screws to free old burner unit. Replace old burner unit with new burner unit, install screws and tighten snugly. Check your wiring diagram and replace spade lugs back on new burner's terminal lugs. Lower range top and replace screws. Reapply power at circuit breaker and test stove.

Replaaceing range topp heating element assemblies
The repair was relatively easy. There's other good insallations already posted, so won't repeat what was already stated. A couple of cautions not mentioned that I noticed. After the top is unfastend and raised, place a towel or pillow case covering over the oven insulation and over the outer edges of the range. In the event that a scr ew or element spring clip falls, drops, or otherwise gets away from you, it will eliminate the dropped part from going down inside the deep side of the range. I also found that using a small pointe awl (ice pick like tool) to align the spring cliip to the pre-punced hole in the element shield made inserting and starting the screw much easier. Also note the hole locatiions on the element shield that were used on the element being removed. (The 9 in. dual heater element) of mine used hole locations numbers 18 and 57. This will ensure proper angular placement and proper location of the electrical connections.
