wires from board to board broken
new board wires slip on -off board was color coded no problem. take out screws remove back four more removes board switches already instaled just switch the wires

No clock and no oven controls
Installed a new electronic board. Taking off the control plate to install it on the new one was difficult part of the button panel peeled off on the old control board.

5 days before Christmas, I shorted out the Control Panel...
Very simple...used a nut driver (can use screw driver) there is 4 screws to take off back panel (on back behind the stove knobs. I bought the New Face plate for I read it was easy to damage the old one, when trying to remove it. I attached the New Face Plate to the Control Panel before I got started. Unplug your Range before you get star ted (thats how I blew the control panel to begin with) There are 4 screws on the control panel. Remove them. The electronic plugs can be difficult to pull off, so I used neddle nose pliers to jiggle them lose. The color coding on the control panel makes it easy to get your wires back into the right spot. Took me 15-20 minutes. Simple

no visual lighting or oven control..nothing shown on graphics
turn off power to range. remove metal cover on back. unplug color coded wires. remove the 4 screws that retain the control board. remove the complete control board. remove the graphics (CAREFULLY TO AVOID DAMAGE TO GRAPHIC COVER) placement on new control board is critical, but simple to do with gentle care. install new control board. . mi ne is working as it should.

Remove back panel on range remove four screws connect wires to control board remove graphic cover off old board carefully reinstall.

Shorted Out Control Panel
Pulled out range from wall ,, (unplug) removed back covers , locate control panel , ok to unplug panel wires before removing on this model wires are color coded, then unscrew hold down screws and remove , on this model there is a control face panel , if your's is still in good condition you can remove this with a hair dryer and a utility knife , face plate is glued on . . . . Heat with hair dryer do not melt ,, gently slice under plate to cut it free from glue . . . Pull gently not to bend or crack face plate . . After removing should be enough glue still on panel to place on new control panel and start install. . . . . . . .

Electronic control died from lightning strike
Really couldn't believe the on line repair instructions as it seemed too easy, but it was correct. We ( me supervising ) did all the obvious--- unplugged,pulled the range out, unscrewed the back panel, took a photo of wire placement just in case, peeled the thingy with the numbers off of the dead control,undid the wires . Put the sticky thing back on the new control, and merely matched the color to the wire on the back. Put the whole thing back in. Ran a quick test with power before replacing all the screws. Presto--it worked ! Replaced all the back panel screws. It took all of 12 minutes. Cleaning under the range took longer---yuck ! Thank you so much.

electronic controls for oven and timer died
replaced the electronic control...making sure to attach correct color coded wires. Only issue - GE sells the plastic graphics plate as a separate item..at nearly the same cost as the entire electronics control unit! So - if you can carefully remove graphics from original..it can then be reapplied to new unit. I had a bit of the white b ackground tear from plastic and remain with adhesive...but was able to touch up with a little white paint from underneath...saves about $70.

ordered part simple plug and play. if i had noticed that the face didn't come with the control board i would have ordered it.. it was a little bit of a problem to remove the old face but i managed and replaced it.. working great
