This is a temperature sensor for a range. The sensor is what detects the temperature inside the oven and is often replaced when the oven is having heating issues. Please note that the wire connector may be different from the original; if this applies to your part, cut the quick connect and wire together with porcelain wire nuts. For this DIY repair, you will need a Number 2 Phillips or Number 2 square-head screwdriver and possibly wire strippers. Make sure to disconnect the power before installing this part. You will need to pull the range from the cabinet to gain access to this part from the back of the unit.

Kenmore Elite Dual Fuel Range. Large oven does not go to desired temperature. Heating element is fine. I have been recommended to replace the oven sensor (820208). The lights, timer, and clock on the control still function. The small oven and top burners still function. The question is seems is the Control Panel communicating with another part to work properly? Or will replacing the sensor solve my problem?
Thanks
Mike

Oven Not heating, already tried replacing element, but still doesn’t heat. Is the problem the heat sensor or control panel? How do I test the heat sensor probe?
For model number PLEB30S8CCC
Hello Maureen, thank you for writing. Testing the temperature sensor probe on your oven is easy. With the sensor at room temperature, measure the resistance between the two prongs at the end of the sensor connector. The resistance of the sensor should read approximately 1080 – 1090 ohms at room temperature. You can also test the elements for continuity to be sure they are both functioning. If the sensor and elements are tested and are functioning correctly the electronic control board would be the issue. If you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you.

Suspected sensor based on above problem. The biggest problem was not knowing how hard it would be to get the built-in oven from its slot. Once it moved an inch, it was easy. The sensor inside the oven is a little hard to access because of the oven door. I would recommend a magnetic screw driver to make it easy to hold the sensor screw
