Product Description

If your oven has little to no heat, there may be an issue with the bake element. The bake element is found in the bottom of the oven cavity and is used to supply the heat used for cooking and baking. If the element has burnt out, it should be replaced. This open-style 240V bake element is a genuine OEM replacement part for your oven. It features push-on male spade terminals that are approximately 13.75 inches apart, and the element itself measures approximately 19.25 inches wide by 15 inches long. Before beginning this repair, please be sure to disconnect the power supply to your range, as you will be working with electrical components.

The baking element (bottom of oven) broke and burnt
I was unable to locate the exact model number, but found close #'s - then used the pictures and measurements to locate a match, and ordered it. Disconnected the power to the stove; removed the two sheet-metal screws from the back of the oven; gently pulled out the ends of the element to access the wire connectors to the element; remove t he contacts with pliers. Installatiion was just the opposite. Quickly and easily done (especially with the removal of the oven door for easier access. )

It was one of the easiest repairs we have done. It only took a few minutes to replace the element and the stove now works just like new. I thought I was going to have to buy a new stove but wad able to order the part and replace it. It saved me at least $600.00

Bake unit element burned out in stove.
I removed screws holding element in place & tried to pull element & attached wires thru back of oven w/o hitting breaker switch. Thought having oven turned off would be enuf. WRONG! Element/wiring arced, welding wiring connector to metal wall in back of stove. After breaker was thrown due to my idiot move (lol), I removed back panel on ov en/stove & broke arc weld on wire connector/stove back & connected wires to new element. Reattached back panel, refastened element to back of stove & flipped breaker back on. Turned on oven and WALLA!!! HINT: Hit breaker b4 pulling out old element & save ur self some time & work. I should have known better! lol

Oven bake element burned out
Removed the failed element with a screw driver and 1/4 inch socket. Slowly pulled the element out of the oven back wall until terminals were visible. Removed the element terminals and set it aside. Plugged the terminals in the replacement element, inserted it in the back wall, and re-fit the two screws. I ran the oven at 350F 15 minute s before the brake-in odor dissipated.

Wires tried to slip back into the holes in the back.
Solved the problem with clamping pliers to hold the wire in place, so I wouldn't have to take off the back to retrieve it. Still only took less than 15 minutes to complete the instilation. and it was easier than easy to replace. Works very good now. Thank you for being there for me.

Unplug unit. Remove bolts, pull out element from back wall. Unhook wires to old element and remove element from oven. Set new element inside oven, hook up wires to connecters and push back into wall. Replace bolts and voila you are done. Be sure not to pull out insulation from wall when removing old element and pull out far enough so wire s don't spring back into insulation and get lost.
