Just remove plug-in elements and replace. Do not use generic universal parts from the big stores. These factory parts are excellent.
Were these instructions helpful?
removed burners, cut wires to each burner, installed new wires from terminal block kit. reinstalled surface element. Followed directions from video located at site of the ordered items
I had been waiting since May for Lowe's to get a new cooktop in, with delay after delay and one finally coming in that was damaged. Decided to fix my cooktop myself and ordered all new elements. Just plugged them in and they worked perfectly, just like getting a new cooktop. And when they say you get them fast, they MEAN it! Ordered the parts on a Sunday and got them on Tuesday!
For both repairs, I downloaded from the site. Their excellent videos onto my laptop and had it by as I worked. Their step by step instructions on video with my being able to pause and watch as I worked made the repair go extremely fast and efficient. I strongly recommend their videos for how to replace the heating element in the oven.
unplug old element, remove drip bowl , insert new elements and new drip bowl.
pulled out old elements and inserted new ones.
pulled old ones out and plugged new ones in
very easy just replaced the new parts by hand, only adjustment was my wife bought aluminum drip pant cover so you have to make a slit in the aluminum cover to adjust for the heating element. You do not actually need the aluminum covers, just the drip pan
(1)Make sure control switches are on off and elements are cool to the touch.(2)Slightly lift old element and pull to unplug.(3)Plug the new element in and align brackets to slots on drip pan.
I bent the 2 insert stems downward till it flattened with fingers . A bit at a time.
