worm gear had worn the teeth down where the mixer would not turn anymore
Removed the band around the end near where the beaters go, then remove the 4 screws holding the case together, then removed the screw holding the end cap over the motor area, then removed 6 screws from near the beaters area. Next, pulled the case apart to get to the worm gear. Remove 3 screws from the worm gear case, then took a hammer an punch and punched the pin holding the worm gear assembly together out, removed the worm gear and replaced and then did all the first steps in reverse order.

speed control knob, Thumb screw
Husband pull knob from part sent used plumbers tape to make it stay on. the thumb screw he took old one off and put new on.

Plastic knob had broken off of the set screw.
Used pliers to loosen the set screw and removed with fingers. Replaced with new one. Just snugged up. Easy repair

Accessory input port striped. Not driving attachment.
Problem found is plastic transmission cover cracked causing too much play between gears causing them to skip and strip. New replacement cover is cast metal. Great improvement. Remove trim ring (one screw). Remove top cover (4 screws). Remove plastic transmission cover (4 screws). Remove snap ring that holds too beveled gear. Replace gear and re install snap ring. Replace gear in transmission (other beveled gear) I also replace bronze bushings at each end of the adjacent worm gear. Re pack all gears and transmission cover with fresh grease. Reinstall all gears and transmission cover. Ensure all components are properly seated and lined up. Re instal cover and trim ring. Easy fix. Less than an hour. Works as good as new. Replacement parts fit perfectly.
