Hello Vicki, thank you for your question. You will need to remove the plastic lining around the inside of the door. There are retainer clips holding the liner in place and you will need to use a putty knife to remove it. Depending on the type of microwave you have, you may have to come in from the bottom or from the top to remove the lining. Gently slide the putty knife in between the lining and the frame and go around the frame and gently pry it loose. On the hinge side you will need to come in from the backside to pry the lining off. If after you remove the lining you only see 2 screws, unthread them to see if the handle will come off. If it does not come off, you will have to remove the inside door panel in the same way you removed the lining. Once removed, unthread the remaining 2 screws and remove the old handle. Install the new door handle and reinstall both the inner door panel and the lining. Restore power to the microwave and everything should now work for you. Old door handle was broken and needed replacement.
1. There are three screws in the side of the door facing you. Open the door and remove them. 2. The really tricky part is removing the metal and grey plastic door frame. Once the three screws are removed, the metal/plastic door frame will separate from an inner, black plastic door. It may seem like the metal and grey plastic frame are sep arate parts but they're not -- the metal/grey plastic door frame is a single piece (this was what was surprising to me). Very carefully pry the metal/grey plastic frame from the inner, black plastic door. Eventually the whole metal/grey plastic door frame assembly will pop away from the black plastic inner door. 3. Once you've removed the metal/grey plastic frame, the screws holding the handle are exposed and can simply be removed and the handle replaced. NOTE: Be very careful in tightening the screws holding the handle; tighten them too tightly and they can break the handle.

Broken handle
Take out three screws on inside edge of door, gently pry off outer skin and set aside glass and frame. I should be good at this because I've done it three times now. For some reason the new handles break off inside the screw holes. I am going to try JB Weld this time and use longer screws - going to measure the hole in handle for the long est screw possible. Maybe more threads in the handle and glue will keep it from breaking on the third replacement.
