would not heat ........all displays, lights, turntable seemed normal
opened the cabinet, tested the multiple switches for continuity...seemed OK.....the unit would run, but when the magnetron engaged - no heat...one of the fins on the magnetron had broken loose from its assembly....I first replaced the magnetron & still no heat.....I then replaced the capacitor & diode...and success..works fine.I purchase

new sheet metal screws at bigbox to resecure the cabinet...the odd heads on the original ones wallowed out, even with the proper driver

Microwave was buzzing and humming loudly.
Removed trim kit from around the microwave then pulled it out of the wall. Removed the outer cover of the microwave. Located the diode, tested it then replaced it and the magnetron. All with a phillips head screwdriver. Took care of the problem.

Microwave was not heating the food.
You have to remove the Microwave from the cabinet over the stove then remove all the screws from the microwave's metal cabinet and slid it off. You must make sure that the capacitor has no voltage stored in it or you can electricut yourself. There are many video's on youtube showing how to do this. Changing the diode involve only two s

crews. So it's the easiest part of the job. IN MY CASE IT TURNED OUT THE DIODE WAS NOT THE PROBLEM. I NEEDED A NEW MAGNATRON. WHICH IS ALSO EASY TO REPLACE ONCE YOU'VE OPENED UP THE MICROWAVE AND DRAINED THE CAPACITOR.
