For this beginner repair, start by making sure the engine is cool, the spark plug is removed, and the mower is on its side. Remove the old bolt and washer with a socket. Insert the new bolt and washer into the blade opening and secure it with the socket.

What size socket is needed to remove the dual blades?
For model number 42" Riding mower about 16 years old.
