When the flame inside your heater goes out the thermocouple signals for the fuel valve to close. This helps prevent a dangerous build-up of unburned fuel inside the machine. My heater's pilot light comes on, but when I turn the control knob to "on", the flame goes out. Is this indicative of a bad thermocouple?
