My generator fails to generate AC. When tested it shows 2.7 volts. I've tried exciting to get AC to no avail. Would you know the cause and do you have the part. All reviews I've found allude to a capacitor problem?? Could you tell where the capacitor is located on this model. No trouble with starting just producing AC. Generator sits most of the time on a float charger.
Thank you

Hello Harry, thank you for your query. We have found that the most common causes of a generator producing no alternating current are the loss of residual magnetism in the alternator and a failed AVR or another excitation component. If the voltage is 0–5 volts per phase, it is probably a loss of residual magnetism. We would recommend replacing the voltage regulator, part number FIX9270265, to fix the issue. We hope this helps, good luck with this repair!
