Flood Switch

This site is fantastic and the directions provided for the repair were spot on. I messed up with the troubleshooting and just started throwing parts at the problem. Started with the water inlet valve which was the most likely culprit based on the percentages of time it was the problem according to this website. After replacement of the ... Read more water valve the problem persisted. Moved on to the float switch, problem persisted. Went to the float itself, the easiest and cheapest part to replace. When I removed the float cover on the interior of the dishwasher I immediately discovered the problem. There was a lot of buildup inside the cover that was preventing the float from returning to the down position. Essentially it was telling the dishwasher brain that the tub was full of water when it wasn't. I cleaned this out and replaced the float and everything works perfectly. Hope someone learns from my mistake and checks the obvious stuff first. Cheers!
