Timer knob would not turn it was stripped and metal band came off and lodged inside
Unplugged dryer and used pliers to remove metal band from inside and replaced with new.

Broken Timer knob
I pulled the broken knob off and carefully looked at the replacement knob. Noticing the replacement knob was "D" shaped I carefully lined up the timer knob to slide on the shaft. It worked perfectly.
