Product Description

The door gasket provides a watertight seal between the tub and the door, to keep water from leaking out of your dishwasher. If your dishwasher is leaking you may need to replace the door gasket. This gray door gasket is made of rubber and measures approximately 73 inches. For this repair, open the dishwasher door and remove the lower dish tray. Use your hands to pull out the old gasket. Clean the channel with a rag. Press the new gasket in place so it sits inside the groove in the door. Keep the door closed tightly for a few hours to ensure a strong seal is made.

When replacing the tub gasket/door seal once the channel is clean would it be ok to lightly smear some silicone at different points to ensure the gasket/seal stays in place.

Gasket to long should I cut it 1 1/2 inches??
For model number MDB120RFM3
Fix.com logo
Hi Heath, Thank you for your question. We do not recommend cutting any additional length off on the tub gasket if any is present during your repair. We have included a link to one of our YouTube videos that you may reference on how to install the tub gasket. The dishwasher in the video may appear different from yours, but it will give you a general idea on how to install the part. If you have any questions, please let us know. We are open 7 days a week. We look forward to hearing from you!

What is the size (cross section) of this gasket that you sell? I got a replacement that was supposed to fit this model frigidaire dishwasher from another company and it was too big and it was too big-- door did would not close. The gasket in place is about 3/8" x 3/8". The replacement from other company was 1/4" x 1/4" and had a cross section that looked like an 8 while original is simple oval.

Hello Charles, thank you for writing. Thank you for writing. We actually do not have the exact sizing listed on the gasket. However, using your model number, we can confirm that the part PartSelect Number PS8260227 is the correct one for you. We also have a video showing how to install it. We hope this helps.

leak from door
I ordered the top 3 parts in terms of probability of solving the problem (water inlet valve, tub gasket, and bottom door gasket). I installed all 3 and it did not solve the door leak. Then I realized that the bottom door gasket had come out (in other words, I had not installed it properly). I reinstalled the bottom door gasket (a criti cal point is that it has to be *pressed in* firmly -- there should be some resistance), and it worked. Note that the bottom door gasket is a hybrid between a true seal and a splash guard. The notch in the middle is designed to drain water from the door back into the tub. Because of that notch opening, there is sputtering and splashing at various points of the wash cycle. This appears to be by design, and those splashes result in water being absorbed by the insulating foam. Thank you to the previous submission/posting authors, as this is what clued me in.

The seal was old and torn.
Opened the door, read directions, inserted the seal.
Make sure to read the direction and let the washer sit with new seal for a day with door locked (as best you can) before using.
