Product Description

The drive hub connects the basket of your washer to the transmission shaft, which in turn allows the basket to spin. If your washer will not agitate, spins slowly, or is excessively noisy, it may require a new drive hub assembly. This genuine OEM kit comes with a new hub and a fork holder. To replace this part, you will need to remove the agitator from the tub to expose the hub assembly. Use a flat blade screwdriver to remove the fork shaped holder, and then remove the screws holding the hub assembly to the transmission shaft. Place the new hub onto the shaft, and rotate the washer tub to line up the holes. Once lined up, drill the screws back into place. Please note that this kit does not come with replacement screws, so you will need to reuse the ones from the old hub. The new fork holder is then put through the slotted opening, using a small hammer to tap it into place. Once you have installed the new part, be sure to follow the instructions on the pamphlet provided with the hub to calibrate your washer.

I am trying to replace the drive hub on my Kenmore top loader. The U clip won’t go into the hub. Will the machine work without that u clip in there?

We can not seem to get that washplate off after removing bolt. Washing machine barely agitates if at all and a slight clicking noise. Please advise.

Hello Dan, Thank you for the question. The Washplates may take a bit of force and there is a bolt at the top that will need to be removed. We hope this helps.

I have a MN 110.25132410 washer and it is making noises while in a cycle; the agitator is moving in both directions. I think the Drive Hub is gone. What part # would I need? I should replace the retainer clip too.

the tub did not spin. you could hear motor spinning free of the tub.
1. unplug machine
2. remove cap covering a bolt in the center of the washers basket. carefully prying with a flathead screwdriver. small holes under rim
3. remove bolt with socket while holding tub in place
4. wiggle agitator plate up and off the splined shaft (I used channel locks to grip the plastic fin trying not to cr ack it)
5. under agitator plate was the plastic hub held in by 6 screws and a plastic horseshoe wedge-like key. removing the 6 screws with a impact drive pressing firmly so not to strip them
6. removed the horse shoe key took some wiggling and beating with a hammer and screwdriver
(my old hub had been shredded by overloading the unit with blankets so it came off very easily)
7. cleaned the spline shaft off with a steel brush and a vacuum.
8. started wiggling the new hub on (very tight) and could barely get it started on the shaft. afraid to ruin the spline of the new piece by pushing unevenly with my hands I decided to find a short 2 ft piece of 1" dia. pipe. fit it over the shaft touching the hub and pound it down on it was very hard to get it down all the way but just took some beating
9. once the hub was down close to the holes I slowly used screws to suck the hub down all the way around slowly tighting each one little by little till they were tight. the horse shoe key was very tight too going back in but I think that's a good thing tapping it in with a hammer
10. replacing the agitator back on the shaft then tighting the bolt back down holding the tub. then snap the cap back on the top and done .

p.s. took me a while to figure out where the broken piece was i started at the bottom first taking out motor cutch and belt before realizing the problem was in the tub by holding on to the wheel the belt rides on and spinning then jerking it to have the tub spin freely still very tight but noticable
