electric burners wood not work all the time

Unplug the range.raise the top of the range.take out the screws holding the receptacle.cut the 2 wires for each receptacle.s;ipped the shrink tubing over the wires. spliced in the new wires one with the wire nuts that came with it.Heated the shrink tubing with a lighter.but don't get them to hot as they will burn,just hot enough to shrink ...
