Product Description

This is a genuine OEM replacement part. This surface burner plug-in block kit is designed for use with surface elements of your ranges and cooktops. This kit helps connect the wire harness to the surface element. If your element is not heating, or if it only heats intermittently you may have an issue with your terminal block. This is a newer-style terminal block kit, it includes the plastic receptacle block, two metal brackets, two pre-crimped hi-temp wire leads with terminals, two ceramic nuts, two screws, and heat shrinking insulators. Before beginning this repair make sure you have unplugged your appliance.

Elements heat sporatically
I followed the steps in the instructions which were very easy, once the electric power was turned off to the range. I replaced 2 burner plug in blocks in less than 30 minutes. I am embarrassed to say that these burners have not been functional for almost 3 years. I thought that I could not work with electric. Just make sure you have t he tools on hand and read the instructions first. I am a mid-50's female, if I can do this so can anyone else!

The wires were burnt coming out of the Plug in Block
Per the instructions. I soldered my wires where I made the splice vs using the twist on wire connectors. Just feel better about them not coming apart.....other than that, it was easy peasy!

Bad plug in socket. I purchased a new heating element and infinite control switch but will use as a backup as it was not necessary.
Turned off power at the curcuit breaker. Verified power off. Lifted cooktop out of countertop opening. Removed 10 screws holding the cooktop to the pan. Disconnected the wire at the infinite control switch. Remove small phillips screw holding the surface plug in block to the burner opening. Spliced the connectors to the new plug in block. Twisted the wires together and applied wire nut included in the kit. Placed shrink wrap sleeve over wire nut and heated with hair dryer to shrink the sleeve. Reversed the disassembly . Turn power back on and tested good.

Right front burner didn't work. I could either have High or off. Anything in between was off.
This was the second time I replaced the plug-in block. Turned off the circuit breaker. Took out the burner and pan. Opened the top of the range, disconnected the wire nuts. Unscrewed the block unit at the edge of the burner opening. The new block kit did not have the terminals assembled, so I looked to see how the old one looked and inser ted the terminals into the back of the block until they snapped in. Put the heat-shrink sleeves on the terminal wires, then connected the wires from the range to the terminals with wire nuts. Pulled the sleeves over the wire nuts and heated with a lighter until they shrunk. Did not shrink as well as last time, but it looked to be good enough. Reattached the block onto the stove top, put in the pan and inserted the terminals from the burner into the block. Turned the electricity back on, and it works.

Burner would not heat
Followed detailed instructions; removed "heating block" (one phillips screw), cut wires leading to "heat block" (took longer to strip 3/8" wire than to complete rest of project), connected wires in kit with provided wire nuts, assembled wires to "new heat block", installed with one phillips screw and done. Made me ashamed that it took 3 months to get around to doing a 20 minute project.

This is a drop in stove. Turned off power at breaker. Pulled the coils and drip pans to access screws holding the top on. Lifted top and unscrewed old block kit. Replaced block kit and secured it. Screwed down the top and installed new drip pans. Reinserted coils and reset power. All good.
