Defrost Timer - 120V 60Hz

Unplugged refrigerator, removed bottom grill cover, left side removed one screw which loosened up bracket holding defrost timer, removed two screws holding defrost timer on bracket. Reverse instructions with new timer, done!

followed your video, the model was different than the one in your video, but same basics, defrost timer was located in housing with the light and temp. controls. thanks for the videos, big help.

Research symptoms, order part (which arrived in less than 2 days), turn off electricity to appliance, remove 3 screws, drop panel down, remove old part, plug in new part, replace screws. . . . done, works like new! BTW, I'm a 67 year old female, if I can do it, you can too.

Slide these down to expose the control panel (part#28) horizontal mounting screws (Part # ?). 5. Remove two (2) horizontal mounting screws and two (2) vertical mounting screws (Part#402) allowing the control panel to drop down. The control panel will now be attached only by the electrical wiring. 6. Identify the defrost control timer (Part #47) and remove this part by releasing the plastic tabs that hold it in place. Note how the existing timer fits into the control panel. 7. disconnect the 4 contact electrical socket (not pictured) from the existing timer and plug the new timer into the socket. 8. Insert the new timer into the control panel, being careful to have it the same side up as the old timer. 8. Reassemble the control panel to the refrigerator, including replacing the two slide covers. 9. Plug the power cord back into the wall socket. At this point the refrigeration unit should start. The evaporator fan may make noise. If the unit does not start this is OK. This indicates the defrost controller is in "defrost" mode. Leave the contents of the top shelves out while the unit goes through the defrost cycle (may take up to 30 minutes). The unit should start at this point. The evaporator fan may be noisy if one defrost cycle has not been sufficient to clear the ice from the drain pan. 11. If the evaporator fan is still noisy, there is an access to the shaft of the defrost timer through a hole in the bottom of the control panel. (A small flashlight and a small mirror from a lady's make-up kit will let you examine the bottom of the control panel for this access.) Use a 3/16' or smaller flat blade screwdriver to rotate the defrost timer until the unit stops. This indicates the defrost cycle is re-initiated. Let the unit go through the defrost cycle again (another 30 minutes). this should clear the ice from the drain pan so the unit can return to normal operation. 12 Re-install the upper shelves and return the food.

Replaced defroster timer, cooled for a few days and then temp went back to 50/60 degrees, don't know what to try next
