Product Description

If your oven is not coming up to temperature, is not heating at all, or has inconsistent temperatures, it may be time to replace your bake element. The bake element is found at the bottom of your oven and is responsible for providing the heat in order to cook your food. When replacing this OEM part, you will want to disconnect power to your appliance, and pull it out from the wall so that you can access the back panel. Removing the oven racks, and even the oven door will make accessing the screws at the back of the oven easier. You will need to use pliers to disconnect the wires from the bake element terminal at the panel in the back of your range. You can then unscrew the element inside the oven to remove it. Replace it with the new bake element and install the screws back in place. The wires can then be reattached along with the back panel, and your oven should heat up properly again.

Bake element replacement
1. Turn of over power at the breaker.
2. Remove bake element cover. There's 2 quarter inch nuts.
3. Disconnect old element. For me there was not much play in the wires so when I disconnected the old element I lost the wire in the insulation. If this happened you can remove the central plate cover on the back of the oven and you can easily find the wires again.
4. Connect the replacement element.
5. Screw the bake element cover back in.
6. Turn power back on.

Baking element slowed to heat, never able to reach 300 degrees.
Others tips proved to be very handy! Pull the unit out, (unplug it!) and remove the center back cover's 6 screws, exposing the wire connectors. 2 screws from the inside holding the element and it's out. A single 1/4" nutdriver was all it took. Perfect fit.

Socket set
Baking element had burned out
I rolled the stove away from the wall and unplug the unit. I took a small socket and removed four small hex head screws from the back panel protecting the wiring. I removed the electrical connectors from the baking element. I went to the front of the oven and opened the oven door, removed the baking racks and removed two small hex h ead screws holding the baking element to the back wall. I then took the baking element out of the oven. I put the new baking element through the back wall of the oven and fastened the new baking element to the back wall with the two hex head screws. I replaced the baking racks and closed the oven door. I went back to the rear of the oven and pushed the two electrical connections on to the baking element and replaced the back panel with four hex head screws. I plugged the oven unit back in to the outlet. I then tested the baking element by heating it to 150 degrees. I placed a temperature thermometer into the oven compartment to see if it was heating at the correct temperature. It all turned out great.
