Product Description

The dispenser door solenoid is the part that controls the flapper door on your ice maker, allowing it to open and close when dispensing ice. If your ice maker is not dispensing ice or water, the door is not opening or closing, or the door is sweating, there may be an issue with the dispenser door solenoid. You can test this part with a multimeter to determine if it is faulty. If the part has failed it will need to be replaced. This part is a genuine OEM replacement for your dispenser door solenoid assembly.

We are getting ice but nothing from water dispenser… Getting water to the front connector of water line but nothing beyond that. Should we look to replace Union connector first before micro switch? Thanks so much. Jody PS we don’t have a trim around the controls

Hello Jody, thank you for reaching out. Based on our study, we suggest checking the refrigerator control setting. If it is too cold, adjust it to a warmer setting. Also, you need to check the water reservoir; if it is frozen, you need to melt the ice. If the problem still persists, we recommend replacing the micro switch, part number FIX8259956, and the interface dispenser assembly, part number FIX8758671. We hope this sorts out your problem!

Dispenser door for ice and ice maker was frosting shut.
The repair went very easy. Removing the front panel for ice and water dispenser required only a small screwdriver to push three little pegs up at the bottom and that gave me access to the screws needing to be removed. I turned the entire unit off and defrosted everything the day before I installed the part. This seems to have fixed the p roblem.

Flap in ice shoot would not close completely, causing loss of temp in freezer.
Ordered new flap and spring, hoping that would do the trick, but also needed the solenoid. Both orders came ASAP fromThis site. The videos were helpful (although realized we didn't need to remove escutcheon nor fully disconnect panel). With my son aiming a flashlight for better illumination, we were able to repair in less than 20 minu tes. Not quite as easy as the video -- probably because we were making the repair without the background music! Ice works, water works, freezer works -- thanks .

door on front feed ice feeder on door would not close tight causing frost and ice build up
Carefully pop off front cover where the selector buttons are (labeled water, crushed, cubes). Remove 4 screws from each corner giving you access to the solenoid assembly. Unplug the connector from the solenoid. Remove 2 bottom screws and loosen the top screw so the solenoid can slide out. Open the ice shoot door and slide the solenoid plu nger off. Reverse the process and you are done.

Freezer door flap would not close from the ice dispenser and the door would collect a block of solid ice.
Follow the installation videos they have on their website and it's very easy to replace all of these parts. Only issue I had was the top screw on the selenoid had rusted in place and instead of trying to get it out I simply wiggled the old part out, and wiggled the new one in its place. It worked great. My model has black shiny plastic i nserts for the freezer and refrigerator door and it is easier to take the top trim molding off the freezer door to slide out the decorative plastic which allows you to pop the frame around the icemaker out much easier. Careful not to break clips on the decorative trim.

Recommend watching the videos by this site which are excellent. Once front panel is removed and access is gained, the few screws removed to replace the door spring and the solenoid is straight forward and easy. Once back together, hearing the dispenser door 'snap' shut was very nice. Also, kudos to this site on how quickly that they shipped the order!
