Bake Element

Remove 2 Phillips screws in back of oven. Disconnect power, spade leads from old element. Reconnect leads to new element and replace 2 screws and turn on breaker and test.

get the screw out. snap in new coil which I had. Broke the rusted screw with a hammer on the screw driver

The two screws were 30 years old and somewhat corroded/difficult to remove. Sprayed WD-40 & left overnight. Screws then came out OK, New bake element then easy to install - worked fine when power restored. After removing the racks and turning off the circuit breaker, I removed the two screws holding the element plate to the back of the oven. No tools were ne ... Read more eded to pull the connectors off of the element and push them onto the new element. By simply reversing the sequence I had the element back in place and ready to use. I did spend some time cleaning the bottom of the oven - sweeping up the loose debris and wiping it well with a general purpose cleaner while the element was out of the way, but that's because we don't usually make use of the self-cleaning option.
