Product Description

There are a number of symptoms that indicate there may be an issue with your washer drain pump. These include signs of leaking, excessive noise, if your washing machine will not drain, or if it pumps but will not spin. If you are experiencing any of these, a replacement drain pump may be necessary. This is a genuine OEM part, so it is guaranteed to work with your washer. Be sure to disconnect the power supply to your washer before beginning this repair. We find it easiest to access the panel if the front of the washer is elevated, a couple of wood blocks under the feet will help achieve this. Before removing the old pump, have a container handy to drain any water remaining in the pump or hoses.

Would not drain water, pump was not plugged.
Removed the lower panel 3 screws. Put a 2x4 flat (2" off the ground) in the front to access the two screws that hold the pump under the bottom, I think it was a 10 mm socket, I used 1/4'' drive. removed the two screws, unplugged the electrical connector on the right side 2 wires and pulled the pump forward. Removed the two hoses with pli ers. reversed these steps with new pump, all works great, super easy!

Error code showing water drainage problem......pump failure.
First of all, we watched the video on the repair that was associated with the pump we ordered. That is a very well done video showing the pump replacement. Then I had my 15 y.o. son replace the pump following those instructions so he could get some repair experience. All went well and we were soon back to normal with the washer working and no error codes. This site has the best expanded views on the appliance parts. Very easy and helpful to have that as I am a visual type of learner.

F21 code and not draining
Well after 75.00 and a diagnosis of using wrong soap by a technician, I ordered new pump.Once received I pulled front plate held on by 3 screws. Reached in with screw driver (flat) and pulled up on rubber foot. Next slide entire unit to the side and " bang" unit was released from washer. Next got a bucket and used pliers to remove snap r ing on drain hose and inlet hose. Reversed operation for install. Entire job took about 15 minutes and washer is fixed.

F21 error code. Pump filter was clear. Pump making loud noise
Important! Searched for this particular problem/part on Web and at Youtube. Seems that most drain pumps were seated differently than this one. Not sure if they would have worked. This was an OEM for my exact model. This pump seats with two feet that run side to side or parallel with the front of the unit. Most other pumps seem to se at front to back or perpendicular to the front of the unit. Some with a screw under the rubber foot others simply snap in. NOW TO HOW I INSTALLED. 1) I first turned off the breaker to the Washer. 2) I took off the front bottom cover by removing the three sheet metal screws with nut heads (put them in a zip lock back as I always seem to kick around loose screws and loose one or two) 3) I loosened the wiring harness that runs across the front of the opening by unclipping on each side. The clips are the "snap in" type. Simply push down and pull out on each side. 4) I put a few towels down for the water that was still in the system. IMPORTANT NOTE***** IF THERE IS STILL WATER IN THE DRUM OR MORE THAN NORMAL IN THE SYSTEM YOU WILL WANT TO HAVE A WET/DRY SHOP VAC THERE WITH THE HOSE IN PLACE AND ON TO SUCK UP THE WATER AS IT DRAINS.**** My washer pump was still able to get most of the water out as it was on its last leg but still was able to get most out with several resets of the system (turning the breaker on and off and selecting drain/spin on the washer). 5) I then unplugged the electrical feed to the pump. Simply use your fingers and press together and pull out to remove. 6) I then unseated the pump by pushing or pulling and using a screwdriver to help pry it out. Once it was unseated I then used my locking pliers on the butterfly clamps (?) to loosen them so I could removed the hoses. Need two of these. One for the drain hose from the washer to the pump and the other for the hose from the pump to the drain. Remove the hose that goes from the pump to the drain first. Easier to catch the water this way.The towels were soaked but that was easier for me than getting my shop vac in there. 7) I then removed the other hose and removed the pump. 8) I took the new pump and set it in the property position in the washer (not seated yet). I then attached the hose that runs from the pump to the drain line and unclamped the butterfly clamp 9) I then seated the pump by pushing down into place and CAREFULLY pushed down on the rubber feet with a screwdriver to get in the holes 10) I then attached the other hose and removed the locking pliers once the hose was in place. 11) I re-attached the electrical feed for the pump by snapping in the plug on the pump. 12) I then re-attached the electrical harness that runs across the front of the washer. 13) Turned on the breaker and turned on the washer in rinse and spin mode. 14) All was running perfectly so then put the cover back on and was back up and running.
