Product Description

If there is still water left in your dishwasher after it has finished running, there may be an issue with your drain pump. The pump is designed to remove water from the tub, and if that is not happening then it could be due to damaged that is causing the motor not to run or a crack causing a leak. If a new pump is required, this is a genuine OEM replacement part. Completing this repair will be easiest if you pull the dishwasher out from under the cabinet. You will need to disconnect both the water and electrical supply to the appliance before starting.

My dishwasher won't drain. Also, no motor noise when I put dishwasher in cancel/drain mode. How do I know if it's the pump that bad or the controller?

Hello Steven, Thank you for your inquiry. You can test the drain pump with a multimeter to see if it is causing the issue. We also recommend checking the drain filter, and the dishwasher pump and motor assembly, and check the wiring for any loose connections. Good luck with your repair.

Water remaining in the bottom of dishwasher after cycle was completed
Cut the breaker off for the dishwasher. Removed the dishwasher drain line from the garbage disposal and used a wet/dry vacuum cleaner do vacate all the water from the dishwasher. I was able to look at new pump to see where the clip was located to push in so I could rotate old pump to get it out of housing. Before taking it out I removed the wire going to the pump and then rotated the pump and took it out. Watching the video twice that was provided by this site will make installation pretty easy for most. I put new pump in and rotated until it locked and then replaced the plug wire back to the new pump. The rest was just putting things back like the drain line and make sure all your clamps are put back in place. I was able to change the old pump without taking dishwasher out of counter and turning it on its side. It was a little more difficult working on it in this manner but surely doable.

water won't drain and unit not running
it took a great effort to turn the pump - counter clock wise- to disconnect the pump from housing. after few trial it finally came lose.when the pump drop lower you can easily disconnect the wire from the unit. put down a tray under the pump so water will not running under the washer. the problem started when some how the pump is loose an d water was dripping resulting burning out the copper wiring .

Dishwasher would not drain
Found this site and discovered the most common cause of a dishwasher failing to drain was a faulty drain pump. I ordered a new one from partselect.com. It arrived very quickly. The DIY video was extremely informative and made replacing the drain pump super easy; however, after installation I was still having the same problem. Of course, i f I just remembered to pop out the plastic drain block piece in the new garbage disposal I had just installed the day before it stopped draining, I could've avoided everything.

does not drain
The online videos and other commenters have described very well how to complete this repair. The only thing I wish had been suggested was to first be sure the drain hose was not clogged!
