Product Description

This is the icemaker only. You must use the wire harness, cover and bail arm from the original icemaker. This is an icemaker for your refrigerator/freezer. Take note that this part does not include the front cover, the wire harness, or the shut-off arm. These must be ordered separately or recycled from your old unit. This unit as a whole will allow your appliance to produce ice. This model makes eight radius ice cubes. If your ice maker is no longer making ice, dispensing ice, or if it is leaking, it will need to be replaced.

The ice maker had stopped working so I have replaced it with a new one. The new one has produced several batches of ice but very slowly. It has only been 1 day. I just unplugged it for a couple minutes and then plugged it back in to see if maybe that would reset the ice maker. Any other ideas? Thanks

Old Icemaker leaking leaving large block of ice in ice bucket.
I unplugged the power to the fridge since you can not disconnect the power to the ice maker after it is installed. Removed the 3 screws with have small socket heads on them. Disconnected the wire connector, it takes a small flat head screw driver to uncouple the connector. Don't forget to remove the old overflow arm from the old ice maker the replacement did not come with one. Just gently pull it out of the motor end and slide it out of back hole and reinstall in reverse order, Very simple. On replacement attach the power first. For some reason the new wire length was a little shorter so attach that first. Then lift the icemaker into place making sure that the fill tube goes in the fill hole in the back of the ice maker other wise you will have water all over the inside of the freezer. I installed the back screw first did not tighten all the way then installed the front screw once again did not tighten all the way and lastly I installed the bottom screw then tightened them all down. I have a side by side fridge and I am a little wide in the shoulders so I had to work sideways to unit so it made it a little more difficult but not really a problem. It can take awhile for the freezer to come back up to temperature since I unplugged the power to the fridge so it make take a couple hours before it starts making ice again. This repair was simple and the replacement works perfectly. The local appliance part dealer wanted almost $200.00 with tax even if I installed it myself. Part select charged me $66.00 and $7.00 in shipping and it was at my door in one day from Kentucky to Florida. So that is my story and I am sticking to it. Good luck.

Ice maker stopped making ice
Remove drawer cover and ice storage drawer. They just lift and pull out. Ice maker is very accessible. Unplug 4 wire connector plug by hand by squeezing the two clips. Remove the screw at the bottom.Remove the two screws on the top left and out the ice maker comes. Transfer the timer cover from the old ice maker to the new one and reinsta ll the new ice maker in reverse order of removal.

Ice maker was just dropping water into ice tray and causing it to make ice clumps/chunks
Replaced the old ice maker with the new one from PartSelect. All I needed was a 1/4 inch nut driver to loosen 2 screws, then lifted up old ice maker to take out. Now my old ice maker has a wire harness that is molded into side of fridge so I took off the wire harness that came with new ice maker (take off front cover and with screwdriver just push down on clip) and connected the one on my fridge to new one. Very simple. Only problem I had is that no instructions came with new part but I went on YouTube to see how to do. That is the only reason it took 30/60 minutes. Very easy.

started to drip water then quit altogether
Unit replacement was simple. However my wiring is not a harness as supplied. The end opposite of ice make is hard wired into the side of the fridge. I plugged new unit into existing wire. There is a sensor or something in the black wire that didn't get replaced, but I don't know what it is or if it is critical to operation of ice maker. S o far so good.Easy fix.
