Removed microwave from it's position above the oven. Opened case. Diode right there on the bottom left connected to the case with a screw and the capacitor with a plug. Remove old and install new. As it said on the web site - this part fixes 99% of the problems. No need for the capacitor unless this diode does not do the job on it's own. Replace covers before testing. It helps to have two people getting the microwave in and out of it's place. Also, you have to bend down the ends of the track the microwaves legs are in, then bend them back when reinstalling the unit. Getting it in and out is the hardest part of the repair. :-)

Replacement did not solve problem. Per instant repairman, there was a 84% chance of fix. Other web based diagnosis sites pointed at failed magnatron. New microwave is on order now. Peplacment of diode was not difficult once oven was removed from cabinet space. Cover removal and one bracket holding capacitor in place was all that ... Read more was necessary to replace diode.
