Power Nut

First of all I would like to thank this site for the excellent service we received and the young lady I spoke to in customer service was great. Only the right side was bad, but I changed both sides while I was at it. I left the left side in tacked so I could get the right height on the right side to make sure the ram was level. I took ... Read more of the two nuts and undid the power nut. At this point I cleaned off the screw rod that the power nut attaches to and screw on the new power nut. I had someone hold up the back of the ram to make sure that I had it level and then put on the cap and attached it with the two small screws, and then repeater the same steps for the left side. Tis compactor is thirty six years old and this is the first time I did any repairs to it and I hope it last another thirty six.
