Oven element had actually melted when it had been turned on.
followed what the repair video had showed by taking out the two screws and unhooked the wires and plugged in the new element, replaced the screws and done. turned the oven on and cooked dinner right away. saved a big repair bill to a serviceman and service trips, one to come out and check the range and one to replace the element. probably around $200.

Heating element in electric stove oven broke in 2 pieces.
Ordered part which was delivered in 3 days. Called son to come and install. 7 days later son came to repair. I had watched video on how to install so I supervised(kibbitzed). He shut power off at fuse box, removed element with a screw driver, used pliers to release connection and then reversed procedure, installing the element. It took ab out 9 minutes. Were I younger than 82 and could bend and reach, I could have done it myself. Back to baking.

lower element would not funtion, stove would not heat
Pull range out from wall far enough to unplug it.( to do this, lift up on the front of the oven about 1 inch while pulling out)Unplug range (if range is hard wired and there is no plug, push stove back in and turn the appliance off at the breaker, test to make certain there is no electricity to the appliance before continuing. Use electri c tester to make sure there is no electricity..or else you will be shocked with 220 volts. Remove oven racks. Remove the 2 Phillips screws at back lower left and right sides. Pull element out 2 inches, enough to see the wiring and friction fit clips attached to element. Detach clips from element. Remove old element. Install new element. Re-attach friction fit clips to element. Screw Phillips head screws to hold element in place. Replace oven racks. Close door. Plug stove back in, or turn breaker back on. To test, turn selector to oven, turn oven temp. to 350 degrees. See the new element glow bright red. Push range back in. You've just completed the install.

Element partial warming.
Pulled the stove from the cabinets, unplugged stove from electrical outlet. Removed back cover. Removed two Philips-head screws inside oven and removed element. The male terminal ends of the oven element were 'burnt' and fell apart as I removed the heating element from the oven. At the backside of the stove, the female 1/4-inch electrical connectors were 'burnt' as well. I replaced the old female connectors, making sure they were 'crimped' tightly. I then installed the replacement oven element, and tightened the retains screw, firmly. I replaced the back cover, plugged in the power, wiggled the stove back into place, and baked oatmeal raisin cookie for New years Eve.

Replacement really simple. Remove two screws to release the element and then just pull the wire clips off each end. Then place wire clips back on the new element push element back in place. Line up the screws and tighten them. Job done and working. Price was very reasonable and received fedex in 3 days. Highly recommend this site

Oven heating element melted
I removed both racks out of the oven. Used a phillips screw driver to remove the two retaining screw and pulled the element out. I disconnected the two attached wires from broken heating element. I then hooked up the two attached wires to the new heating element, pushed back in, installed retaining screws, and replaced oven racks. It took longer to open the box on the new element then it did to do the whole job!

The bake element cracked due to age and use I suppose.
Pulled out the oven from the wall and unplugged it. Opened oven door, unscrewed the left and right screws. Pulled the element out slowly. Located and disconnected the electrical fittings on either side. Inserted the new element, reconnected electrical fittings. Guided the fittings and wire back into their holes and reinstalled screws. Pre tty daen easy.
