This is an authentic OEM replacement part. This defrost thermostat is designed for used with refrigerators. When evaporator coils start building up frost the defrost heater kicks in to warm them up and melt the frost. Once the frost is melted and the coils reach a certain temperature the defrost thermostat signals to the heater it?s time to shut off. This defrost thermometer cuts out at 80 degrees Fahrenheit and it will kick back when the temperature reaches 15 degrees Fahrenheit. This defrost thermostat includes the wire and clip. Make sure your Refrigerator is unplugged before beginning this repair.
