Cold water wasn't coming out, just hot
Looked up a video on YouTube and my husband and I followed that. We removed old valve and replaced it with the new one. Cold water comes out now!

washer water wouldnt stop running and was overflowing
I had to take the entire back of the washer off. I also had to disassemble the top as well in order to plug in the new part. trying to hold everything in place and then reassembling everything after the part was in was VERY frustrating. Putting in the actual part was simple. I recommend to take pictures throughout the disassemble in ord

Hot water was coming in fine but nothing when cold water was selected
I started by turning off both water valves and removing both hoses at the washer with channel-lock pliers. The hardest part is removing the back plate enough to access the water inlet valve assembly. Its only held to the back plate with a single screw but the back plate assembly takes some patience to remove. I removed the outlet hose f

rom the water inlet valve and placed the hose on the new valve, then working one at a time to avoid a mixup I removed each electrical connector from the old valve and pushed onto the new valve. I wrangled the back plate back on with some effort and replaced the screw holding the new water inlet valve to the back plate. Replace the water hoses to back of the new water inlet valve (don't get them mixed up...make sure you get cold to cold, hot to hot) then turn on water and test. This fixed my problem but if yours still doesn't, the problem is probably the water temp selector switch on front of washer.

reverse removal steps. In my case, the trouble continued. I tested further by connecting water hoses, hot to cold and cold to hot on the valve. Now it is the hot water filling slow. examining the hose, a wire screen was at one end, and something like a faucet aereator on the other. Since the hose was in good shape, I removed the black restriction and problem solved.
