Product Description

When the lid switch on your washer is activated, it sends a signal that the lid is shut and that the machine can operate through the wash cycles. If your washer will not start, drain, agitate, or spin, there may be an issue with the lid switch assembly. You can use a multimeter to check the switch for continuity to determine if it is defective or not. If you need to replace the part, this is a genuine OEM lid switch that comes with a three-wire lead.

Washer No Longer Spinning/Draining or Working
I recently came across an issue with my washer. It was no longer responding to any commands or settings initiated from me while attempting to use it. It seemed my washer has finally bit the dust. It is an 80 Series Kenmore washer, possible around 10 years old. Frustrated with the issues I did research online and discovered that it may jus t be the lip switch assembly. I ordered the part and performed the repair process. My only tip is to make sure you have ample room to remove the washer cabinet and also to be able to move the washer to ensure there is no complication when unscrewing or attaching the new part. Make sure you use a 5/16 ratchet to remove the grounding screw as well. I have a smaller laundry room with only about 3 ft of moving space to really get the job done. I was able to remove the cabinet out to the hallway and make the repair. Also be sure to properly attach the cabinet back into the washer before putting everything back into place. All in all it was an easy repair. It should only take you about 10 mins to make the repair, and the rest of the time your just removing the cabinet, latches and screws. Save myself $400+ dollars!

Thanks to a "youtube" video about my exact washer model and the correct part from your company, I repaired my washer in no time and saved myself from a needless new washer purchase. Hope to get more life from my current lightly used machine. Thank you very much! When I need more parts, I know where I will get them.

Washer not going to drain and rinse cycle
First thing is to unplug the cord from power outlet. I had enough room to slide washer forward with out taking water lines loose. Removed plastic caps on end of control panel, Removed two screws holding control panel slide forward slightly, Fliped controls back. Then used flat screw driver to remove the two brass clips holding back in pla ce. Removed one single screw in back of washer that holds the cover. Remove cover and changed out lid switch.
