This is a genuinely sourced oil filter for a small engine, sold individually. The oil filter should be replaced every other oil change as part of your regular maintenance. Keeping the oil filter well-maintained will ensure your small engine is running efficiently and contaminants are being filtered from the oil. For this repair, drain the oil from the crankcase, allow the oil filter to drain, remove the old filter and wipe the filter adapter gasket area. Pour new oil into the oil filter. Apply a small amount of clean oil to the rubber gasket on the new filter. The filter is now ready to be installed onto the engine. Turn it clockwise until the rubber gasket makes contact with the filter adapter, and then tighten it 2/3 to one full turn to fully secure it. You can now reinstall the drain plug and fill the crankcase with new oil.
