Product Description

The door catch is a metal piece found on the inside dryer door, which helps to keep the door closed. If the catch is broken the door may not stay securely shut, which can result in the dryer not starting. The door catch would be considered the female part, and the door strike would be the male part (which is sold separately and not as a kit). Replacing the broken catch is an easy repair. Use a putty knife to pop out the top and bottom of the catch, then pull out the entire part from the door. Slide the new part into the opening, and firmly press to latch it into place. You are done! This is a genuine OEM part, which ensures it will be the proper fit for your appliance.

The dryer door would not close as door catch was broken
I followed the other poster and used needle nosed pliers to try to remove broken door catch. I could not successfully remove it but I WAS ABLE in 20 seconds to DISLODGE it and to let it fall into the door! I quickly slipped in the new DOORCATCH part. It clicked in and it works like a CHARM!

repair was so easy I didn't have to refer to "Appliance repair for dummies". I used pliers to squeeze and remove the old catch and my thumb to push the new one into place.

Catch on the dryer would not work.
I used a pair of needle nose pliers to catch the top and bottom of the latch, squeezed gently and pulled the broken one out. Took the new one and pushed it in and it works wonderfully. Any one can do it.
