This rear drum bearing kit is a genuine OEM replacement for your dryer. The kit includes a shaft, ground strap, bracket, bearing and seven screws for installation. The bearing supports that back of the dryer drum and helps to reduce friction so that the drum can rotate smoothly and quietly. dryer was squeaking

I followed the you-tube directions. The only problem I encountered was reinstalling the drive belt on the motor and pulley. Directions recommended that you seat the drum in place and reach back to the pulley and seat the belt by feel. I had no luck so I pulled the drum forward where I could see the motor and pulley then I seated the belt and carefully pushed the drum back pulling the drive belt forward as I went until the drum was all the way back and seated.

Cheap screws supplied with Drum Bearing kit

Kit labeled Genuine GE and the brackets and bearing were fine - better bearing material than original. Problem was the bracket mounting holes were punched and designed for "self-tapping" screws. Not what was supplied. Supplied screws had no tapered thread at tip and no chip-cutting relief to do the cutting. Impossible to properly start the screws in the punched holes. Luckily, I saved the 19 yr old screws which were proper "self-tapping" design. Chucked bracket in vise - precut threads and then installed in drum. Otherwise easy repair and wife's happy with her dryer again.

Squeeky when it was turned on

Super squeaky

Took top& 1side off, belt ,removed old parts replaced with new ones (gas dryer) needed two people to tilt back to remove bottom screws !relatively EASY.

drum would not turn

Unplug machine. Removed screws in top of door that holds top on. Tilt top back. Remove 2 screws on side that holds front panel on. Slide panel to side.In rear of machine remove access panel to remove belt. Remove one screw to access hole to drum bearing. Remove drum by picking up belt to lift drum. Lift drum out. Remove 3 screws that holds bearing stud on install new stud. Remove 4 screws that hold on bearing. Install new bearing. Use a spot of wheel bearing grease, install drum, install belt. Install rear panels. Install front and top. Test

Rear drum bearing was going bad, dryer drum making noise and banging around while drying clothes.

I just watched the video on how to repair, and went step by step. The only problem was putting the belt back on after re-installing the drum. I made a hook out of a hummingbird feeder wire and reached in to hook the idler wheel arm, using my right hand, then using left hand set the belt back on motor pulley and on the idler wheel. This site has very good service parts were shipped on time, and all fit perfect.

Dryer was squeeking loudly

Searched Internet for dryer model squeeking. Found probable cusses. Watched video. Took dryer apart found the above parts worn out. Changed the belt and idler pulley just because I had the dryer apart. Less than 50 minutes dryer is fixed. Dryer is like news for $133.00
