The friction sleeve, sometimes called a friction pad, is made of a flexible black plastic and measures a bit over one inch in length. It is designed to reduce the friction between the hinge and the door on your dishwasher, and helps keep it quiet when the door opens and closes. If the door to your dishwasher drops quickly when unlatched, you may need a new friction sleeve. The sleeve is sold individually however there is one located on both the left and right side of the dishwasher. We recommend replacing them at the same time so that they wear evenly.
