Hardest part was figuring out that the rack adjuster kit fixed the problem. The new part is completely redesigned to correct problem of plastic part that causes the wheel failure. New part made of chrome should last a long time. Installation was easy. parts snap together and diagrams are easy to follow. took 1/2 hr.
Were these instructions helpful?
The replacement part were not identical to the original part, so at first I was a little concerned. I had to read the instructions twice and walk thru the assembly with the parts in hand. Removing the original assembly help with the overall understanding. First side took about 15 minutes, second side took 2 minutes. Rally once you do it you become confident that you can't really break anything. Replacement part quality seems better than the original part, that fatigue due to the heat cycle. ****Only issue. I purchased two kits because the wording was misleading. I thought it was one side could be left or right not that one kit had both sides included. $35.00 down the drain :(. But the parts are great and the instructions perfect.******
Extracted basket - with broken wheels that was a cinch, just lifted it out.Removed wheel assemblies (left and right).Installed new parts and re-installed basket - didn't even look at the directions, could have used a bit better pictures. Replacement parts much higher quality than broken ones.
The hardest piece of the installation was removing the old rack adjuster. It was not easy to push in the tabs. The installation of the replacement adjuster was super easy since the included instructions with photos were easy to understand..
Followed directions included with kit. Laid out all the parts before dismantling the adjuster rack, placing them together in a dry fit. Then proceeded with replacing one side at a time. Look at pictures carefully and look at rack carefully before dismantling. It is fairly easy to understand if you take your time.
Replaced with kit provided, new kit is upgraded from plastic to stainless steel, roller stems won't brake off so easily, plus tell wife not to force parts if they don't move easily something is wrong, plus I'm a toolmaker been doing it my whole life, work with blueprints and parts all day
Ordered the adjuster pieces. Which hope they work should. Redesigned from previous time I replaced. With new design would of been nice to have directions with new pieces.
Took old rack out and removed side frames.Attached new brackets to basketreinstalled in roller rails.
NOTE!!! Replacement parts are TOTALLY DIFFERENT! (Metal & Plastic vs. all plastic) Much Better!!removed Upper rack, placed on the floor, on it's sideremoved (forcefully) -ALL- existing plastic wheel supports and adjustment components.Followed the (less than clear) instructions to mount new Metal wheel support and plastic adjuster componentsNOTE! Metal wheel support fits INTO slot of plastic adjuster piece, once I did that, everything fit as indicated.Repeat for other side of rackReinstall into slidesMuch superior feel and function.
I pulled up a youtube video and it was very easy step by step. It took about 20 min.
