Product Description

This genuine OEM nut is used to hold the lower spray arm in place. The lower spray arm is found at the bottom of the dishwasher, and you will need to remove the bottom dish rack in order to replace the nut. Some signs that you may need to replace this part are if the spray arm is coming loose or falling off, or if the nut is missing or damaged. No tools are required to replace the part. If the old nut is still in place, simply twist it counterclockwise to remove it then twist the new one into place.

The plastic screw that help the lower washer arm on broke off.
It was pretty simple, I should have taken it apart before I ordered the parts. I followed the parts diagram and ended up ordering more than I really needed. I guess its better to have more parts then not having what you need.

The plastic retaining nut holding the lower spray arm broke off even with the threads.
In order to remove the threaded portion of the plastic retaining nut for the lower spray arm I made a tool from a piece of wooded dowel and tapped it gently into place. I tapered the dowel on a disk sander to make a tight fit inside the threaded portion of the broken nut. Then I gently screwed out the threaded piece. I looked up the part from this site and once it arrived it was a simple job to put the arm back on and finger tighten the replacement cap nut.

Lower spray arm security bolt broke
Well, this is not my area but I wanted to try. This site was very helpful...it took me a few days to figure out that the security bolt actually broke in half, so part of it was stuck inside and couldn't be seen (where it screws in)...but by looking at the pictures of the part and the part I had in my possession it finally dawned on me! This was so easy and it worked perfectly, thanks so much!

Dishwasher not cleaning dishes, very loose
Lifted spray arm out, no lower or upper bearing and no set nut. Old set nut had broken off in the stem. Used small wood chisel to back out remaining piece of set nut. Installed new lower spray arm nut, set washer bearing in place and screwed in the new Lower sprayarm nut. took less than 15 minutes and dishwasher works perfectly!
