Unplug dishwasher and take out screws mounting unit to counter. Take off bottom front cover plate. Slide out unit for easier access to water lines. Remove electrical connection on valve then disconnect water line then fill line on valve. Remove two front mounting screws. Remove bad valve and install new in reverse.

The dishwasher would not fill with water.
This site is fantastic and the directions provided for the repair were spot on. I messed up with the troubleshooting and just started throwing parts at the problem. Started with the water inlet valve which was the most likely culprit based on the percentages of time it was the problem according to this website. After replacement of the water valve the problem persisted. Moved on to the float switch, problem persisted. Went to the float itself, the easiest and cheapest part to replace. When I removed the float cover on the interior of the dishwasher I immediately discovered the problem. There was a lot of buildup inside the cover that was preventing the float from returning to the down position. Essentially it was telling the dishwasher brain that the tub was full of water when it wasn't. I cleaned this out and replaced the float and everything works perfectly. Hope someone learns from my mistake and checks the obvious stuff first. Cheers!

Lack of water in the dishwasher
1. remove the front lower panel 2. Move the washer out form the cabinet 3.shut the water and the electric. 4. locate the water valve under the washer. 5 tilt the washer back so you remove the cross brace ( no not know why the put in so you an not get to the valve) older models did not have this.6. remover the two screw holding the valve. 7. remove the water input line and remove the A C power connector. 8. with pliers the hose to the the washer in put.8 install the new valve. 9 reverse all the above and you are set to go.The part failed after a few days, they replaced it with no problems , that is service.

water inlet valve cracked in" winterized" forclosure home
Shut off Water & Power to dishwasher FIRST! Remove front dishwasher cover near floor.(4 hex head screw) Pull off 2 wire clip from valve Removed 3/8" copper water line backing off 5/8" nut, removing the line from the old valve. With pliers, squeeze open clamp on black water tube connected to other side of valve, slid it away from valve, d own black tube about 2", pulled black line off of valve. ( I also had a wad of paper towels under the valve, as there will be some water leakage from the lines)Removed two hex head screws holding valve bracket onto dishwasher, removed valve . Removed small brass "L" fitting from bottom of old valve, Teflon taped it, and installed it in new valve. When putting in new valve, I attached black water line first, then put valve bracket on dishwasher with the 2 hex screws. Reattached the 3/8" copper line, tightening the 5/8" nut, slid 2-wire clip back onto "prongs" on new valve. Turned water back on, checked for leaks, slight drip on copper connection, just snugged up 5/8" nut, that stopped it! Turned elec. back on and ran the washer thru a cycle, checking for leaks, then reinstalled the front cover. Really Easy job!!! This company, you guys are the greatest, I've already received my new water inlet valve for the stainless fridge, that also froze and cracked, in this so called: "winterized" home. Was even $50.00 Less than from the manufac- turer them- selves!!! I'll be back, anytime I need a part.
